Tidak seperti layanan dan software yang dikembangkan Google, Chrome merupakan produk Google yang meninggalkan versi betanya. Dalam waktu 100 hari setelah beta-nya dirilis ke publik, Google merilis Google Chrome 1.0. Dan sepertinya Google memang terus menggeber pengembangan browser ini, seperti saat sekarang ini, cikal bakal Google Chrome 2.0 pun sudah dapat dilihat sebagai developer preview.
